For the “what if…” people

Have an app idea?
Let’s find its
first step.

You know the problem. You can picture a better way. You don’t need to know how to code to start figuring out what comes next.

Work directly with Sam to turn a rough idea into a focused first version, a sensible approach, and a clear scope before you invest in a build.

The beginning of something
Your starting point

“There has to be
a better way to do this.”

The first useful versionv.01
  • ✓One audience
  • ✓One problem worth solving
  • ✓One complete core experience

Something real people can try.

Learn. Improve. Build what comes next.

From “what if” to “what’s next”

Start with the problem.
Give the idea room to grow.

A useful first version begins with a few clear decisions. Here’s how we can work through them together, with a defined scope for each stage.

  1. 01

    Find the real need.

Who would use this? How do they solve the problem today? Talk with potential users and look at alternatives before deciding what to build.

First milestoneA specific audience and a problem to explore.
  2. 02

    Make the first version smaller.

Choose one useful journey from start to finish. Sketch the flow, decide what belongs in version one, and park the extras for later.

Next milestoneA focused brief and, if useful, a prototype.
  3. 03

    Build, then learn.

Agree on scope, budget, and milestones. Build and review the release, put it in front of real users, and let their experience inform the next version.

Build milestoneA working release and a plan for what follows.

Choose the right starting point

Does it need to be
an app in the App Store?

Sometimes. The right format depends on what people need to do, where they’ll use it, and what you need to learn first.

Test the idea

When the biggest question is demand.

User conversations, a simple landing page, a manual service, or a clickable prototype can help you explore the idea before committing to a full product.

Learn what’s worth building.

Start on the web

When a browser can do the job.

A web app can bring accounts, bookings, payments, dashboards, and connected workflows to phones and computers through a link.

When the device experience matters.

An iOS or Android app may suit frequent phone use, offline workflows, or device capabilities. We’ll weigh platform and release requirements with you.

PulmTools brings respiratory education and reference tools to the web, iOS, and Android. It’s a Ledgeworks product, built and improved over time.

What changes the price? Features, user roles, payments, integrations, sensitive data, platform count, and migration needs. We’ll define what is included, what can wait, and the payment schedule in writing.

What happens after launch? Hosting, domains, app store accounts, paid tools, and ongoing support are separate costs. Expected running costs and support options belong in the plan, too.

Not ready for a full build? A landing page starts at $995. Smaller planning, prototype, and integration engagements receive their own quote. See all service pricing →

The things you might be wondering

Good questions.
Plain answers.

You don’t need to have all of this figured out before we talk.

I have an app idea but can’t code. Can you help?

Yes. Start with the people you want to help, what they struggle with, and what your app would do for them. You can bring a few sentences, a sketch, a spreadsheet, or an existing prototype. Sam helps translate that into practical options and an agreed development scope.

Do I need an iPhone and Android app straight away?

That depends on how people will use it. A web app can be a useful first release when the core experience works in a browser. A mobile app may make sense for device features, offline use, or a workflow people regularly use on their phone. We’ll discuss the trade-offs before choosing.

What is an MVP?

A minimum viable product is a first working version focused on one important job for real users. It gives you something useful to put in their hands, learn from, and improve. Features that don’t support that first job can wait. Security, accessibility, and the reliability needed for that use still belong in the scope.

Can I start with a smaller budget?

Yes. You could begin with user conversations, sketches, or a landing page to explain the idea and gauge interest. Ledgeworks landing pages start at $995; a prototype or planning engagement is quoted separately. Interest is useful evidence, but it doesn’t guarantee paying customers. We’ll discuss a smaller next step if a full build is premature.

How long does it take to build an app?

There isn’t one useful timeline for every idea. Accounts, payments, integrations, data migration, platform choice, and feedback rounds all affect delivery. After reviewing your idea, Sam can propose milestones, dependencies, and an estimated schedule for a defined scope.

Can you work with a prototype or something I made with AI?

Yes. Bring what you have. We’ll review what works, what needs rebuilding, and the data, security, and ongoing support requirements before agreeing on a production release.

What happens after launch?

Plan for hosting, domains, app store accounts where needed, paid services, support, and future improvements. These have separate costs. Your proposal will identify expected running costs and what handover or ongoing application support is included.

Do I have to commit to a build after the call?

No. The free 25-minute consultation is a fit conversation. We’ll discuss the idea, possible approaches, and a useful next step. Detailed research, design, prototypes, and development are separate work with a written scope and price.
